DGS fundraises for Children in Need

Posted on: 17/11/2017
Didcot Girls' School celebrated Children in Need today by setting an ambitious target to raise £1000 in donations through a range of fund-raising events including cakes sales, sponsored events and a non-uniform day. As in previous years, the Pudsey ears were very popular alongside a vast array of colourful onesies!

Our sixth form students were also in on the act by creating, baking and selling a wide range of cakes, in a Great British Bake-off style event, with all proceeds going to Children in Need.

At Didcot Girls' School we believe it is important for our students to understand the 'why' of everything they do: to understand that Children in Need is about supporting children less fortunate and more vulnerable than themselves. All tutor groups across the Lower School have looked at the values of Children in Need and then planned future charity events for the organisation. Students' proposals will be pitched to the Head of Ethos, Dr Khan, before she chooses the winning ideas, which will see further fundraising in the New Year.
