School Performance Tables - DGS in top 3% in the country

Posted on: 17/10/2018

See the table for Oxfordshire schools hereOctober 16th saw the publication of the National School Performance Tables. With the inclusion of the Progress 8 figure, these tables confirmed how well DGS students’ record-breaking GCSE results this summer compare to those of other schools. Progress 8 is a measure of the progress every student makes between entering the school in Year 7 and completing their qualification at the end of Year 11.

We are delighted to confirm that our score of 0.69 places us in the top 3% of schools nationally!

This performance also places the school in the top 2 schools in Oxfordshire for the progress students make during their time here. Similarly, the Attainment 8 (a measure of overall attainment) has been confirmed as 55.8, which also places us in the top 2 schools in the county and is significantly above the county and national averages of 46.7 and 44.3 respectively.

Finally, the new performance measure of ‘EBacc average point score’ has been published for the first time and is also extremely strong. At 5.08, our score significantly exceeds the county average of 4.09 and the national average of 3.83. This score measures the average grade of students across English, maths, science, a modern foreign language and a humanities subject (history or geography). With 52% of the cohort opting for this combination of subjects, this is a very strong performance and, once again, places DGS in the top 2 schools in the county.

We are really proud of these amazing results because they are testament to the hard work and commitment of an exceptional group of students and staff. Well done, everyone!
