Junior Maths Challenge

Posted on: 10/05/2019

Following the success of our year 9 and 10 pupils in the Intermediate Maths Challenge on the 7th February this year, in which three students, Sophie Baker (Y9), Sophie Thomason (Y10) and Freya Demarchi (Y10) advanced to the next round of the Challenge, years 7 and 8 took part in the Junior Maths Challenge on Tuesday 30th April. 60 students from year 7 and 8 took part in the challenge, the girls approached the Challenge with their characteristic resilience and positivity. The Junior Maths Challenge (run by the UK Mathematics Trust), as always, presented the girls with sophisticated and testing Mathematical questions.

Here’s what some of the girls thought of the Challenge.

“It was a really good opportunity to stretch myself.” – Ava Corcoran

“It challenged me to think outside the box.” – Abigayle Butler

Well done everyone that took part in the Junior or Intermediate Maths Challenge this year. Your determination to continually try your best is always hugely impressive.
