Thank you from Kabwata School

Posted on: 03/06/2019

Didcot Girls’ School students have used recycled pillowcases to make dresses for Zambian school children. The Didcot and Wantage Rotary club then arranged for these to be shipped to Zambia and subsequently on by lorry to the Kabwata School in Lusaka.

This image, taken by teachers at Kabwata School, shows some of the dresses being worn by the children there. We have received a lovely message of thanks from the teachers on behalf of the children, saying that they loved the colours and patterns and receiving the notes written by the girls from DGS. Kabwata is a very happy school, but with few resources for its 1850 children aged 4-15, and so this gift was very much appreciated.

Didcot Girls’ School thanks the Rotary Club for making this happen.
