An out of this world experience!

Mike MullaneThis afternoon pupils in the year 9 and year 10 GCSE Astronomy groups spent an amazing hour hearing from US Astronaut Mike Mullane, about his career in the American Air Force and as a NASA Astronaut on 3 separate space shuttle missions. In a wide ranging presentation they explored what it is like to take off in a rocket, some of the physiological effects of spending time in space, and a breathtaking description of Mike’s most beautiful sight from space…the thin lilac line of a new sunrise as it splits the dark of Earth and the night’s sky. Wow! Watch out for more details from year 10 pupil Chloe, who was also fundamental in setting up our event. Thank you Chloe!
