Mrs R. Warwick - Head Teacher of Didcot Girls' School and Executive Headteacher of Didcot Academy of Schools
Rachael Warwick was educated in both the UK and USA, graduating from Oxford University with a degree in English Literature in 1990. Following three years working in children’s publishing, Rachael became a teacher and worked in seven schools in London, Sussex and Oxfordshire before becoming Headteacher of Didcot Girls’ School in September 2010 and Executive Headteacher of Didcot Academy of Schools in September 2015. Rachael was inspired to enter education following a visit to a comprehensive school in Devon where she saw Year 7 students enjoying Shakespeare through art, drama and language study. She is a passionate advocate of comprehensive education and of single sex education. Rachael lives with her husband and two sons in Bampton and is able to devote the time and energy she gives to the school because of the wonderful support she enjoys from her family.
Mr P. Willett - Director of Didcot Sixth Form College
Paul Willett was born, raised and educated in Oxfordshire. He was awarded a scholarship to read music at The Queen's College, Oxford, and graduated more years ago than he wishes to recall. He joined DGS in September 2000 as Head of Music having previously been a professional musician, Director of a Saturday Music School with over 200 students, and Head of Music at another Oxfordshire school. He is responsible for the Didcot Sixth Form College, working across both St Birinus School and Didcot Girls' School.
Mr W. Manning - Deputy Headteacher, Standards & Culture
William Manning graduated from Kings' College London with a degree in French and Latin in 1994 and left university to pursue arabic studies in Egypt and then work in industry before completing a PGCE with Oxford University in 1999. William worked as a teacher of languages and a Head of Year at the Marlborough School, Woodstock and then subsequently as a Head of Year and Assistant Headteacher with pastoral responsibilities at Tanglin Trust School, Singapore.
William has responsibility for all matters relating to student behaviour including rewards and consequences, student support, care throughout Years 7 - 11 inclusive. William, a keen sportsman, lives with his wife and three children in Freeland.
Mr T. Goodenough - Deputy Headteacher, Curriculum & Standards
Tom Goodenough studied English Literature in Leeds and North London, graduating in 2001. Following four years working in the pharmaceutical industry, Tom completed his PGCE at the University of Reading and joined the teaching profession. Having worked in three schools previously as Second in English and Head of English, he joined Didcot Girls’ School as Head of English & Media in September 2013. He is now Deputy Headteacher responsible for overviewing the quality of Teaching and Learning across the school, the development of the curriculum 11-16 and for teachers' professional development.
Tom lives with his wife and two young sons in Newbury and takes every opportunity to enjoy running, cycling and supporting Tottenham Hotspur.
Miss S Roberts - Assistant Headteacher, Raising Standards Leader
Mr C. Powell - Director of Finance and Services for Didcot Academy of Schools
Chris Powell is a qualified accountant with a diploma in management and considerable experience in the education sector having operated as Chief Finance Officer for a multi academy trust in Norfolk.
Prior to this he was Head of Finance at Hertfordshire Police and has held other leadership roles within the police service, local government and with a government agency. Chris has responsibility for the school support services including finance, IT, HR, premises, catering, transport and administration. Chris has strong links to the area and went to school at St Birinus. He is a keen runner and is married with two children.
