Teachers Guide to Year 7 ICT

First lesson

After welcoming the class and taking the register show them the PowerPoint presentation First lesson 02-03.ppt.

This can be found in Shared Documents \ IT Staff \ Year 7 \ First lesson 02-03.ppt

Explain that the first project will involve them producing a PowerPoint presentation in pairs, about themselves. They will have to come to the front of the class and present it to the group.

They will get a user name and password but this will probably not be available on the first lesson. They will have to log on as user1, user2, user3 etc. and use the password secret.

You might then like to give the girls a copy of the IT Quiz. A copy can be found at

Shared Documents \ IT Staff \ Year 7 \ Didcot Girls IT Quiz.doc

Pupils should type their answers in Word.

This will give them a chance to explore the network for the remainder of the lesson.
