Ridgeway Education Trust (RET) is a multi-academy trust which comprises Didcot Girls’ School, St Birinus School and Sutton Courtenay (CofE) Primary School. The two secondary schools also include Didcot Sixth Form, a mixed sixth form of some 320 boys and girls.
Didcot Girls’ School is an outstanding school, as confirmed by Ofsted (November 2015). The school has a commitment to the very highest standards and is an exciting and happy school where real attention is given to professional development and staff wellbeing. St Birinus School was judged to be a good school, once more, by Ofsted (February 2020) and is on its way to outstanding. The school has a strong sense of identity and a tangibly vibrant ethos. Sutton Courtenay (CofE) Primary School joined RET in April 2019, creating the opportunity to build an exceptional, coherent education provision from nursery up to, and including, sixth form.
Both secondary schools are unique as the only single sex state schools in Oxfordshire and all three schools share the same strong values of high quality teaching and learning and respectful relationships within an inclusive learning community.

Education and Employers
This post is part of RET’s national award-winning careers delivery and our widely recognised work towards the Gatsby Benchmarks. The postholder will work closely with, and be supported by, the Careers Leads at each school who are responsible for our well established work experience programmes. This includes two days of placements for Year 7 students, three days for Year 9 students and a week for Year 10 students. Each of these three programmes takes place at different times of the school year.
The post will involve liaising with students and parents to make sure the appropriate paperwork is complete and with employers to make sure placements are fulfilling appropriate Health and Safety requirements. The postholder will also work to extend our current database of employers. Much of this work can take place online and is suited to flexible working should this be attractive.
Completed application forms (available to download at the bottom of this page) should be submitted to Frances Adley, Didcot Girls’ School Headteacher’s PA, at email@example.com by 9am on Monday 18th October.
Should interested applicants wish to arrange for a conversation about the post prior to application an initial request should also be forwarded to Frances Adley via the email address above.
