Friends of Didcot Girls' School/ Community News
Friends of Didcot Girls’ School are an independent group of parents, carers, staff and supporters from the local community wishing to offer appropriate support or help to the school.
Since the start of the academic year, Friends of Didcot Girls’ School has continued to raise funds for DGS. We have held a Quiz Night and Pamper Evening, helped with the refreshments for the Christmas Music Concert, in addition to our annual Christmas Draw.
This, alongside our monthly Friends 500 Draw - new members always welcome! - has helped us to provide more help within the school.
Our fundraising over the past year has enabled us to help the School Council to provide new tables for a newly refurbished science lab, 25 Edison Computers for the Computer Department, a new printing press for the Art Department, donations towards the refurbishment of the toilets in Cockcroft building, and a projector for the Library.
We would like to thank you, as none of this would have been possible without your support.
Joining Friends 500 is another fantastic way of helping to raise money for the school, while being in with a chance to win a prize draw every month. Take a look at the links below for more information, and how to join:
|1st Prize||Mrs S Cox||£138.50|
|2nd Prize||Mr P Hardiman||£83.10|
|3rd Prize||Mrs L Wanstall||£55.40|
We hope to re-schedule our Race Night for the Summer Term - please look out for the new date.
Another way of helping to raise funds for DGS is to sign up to https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/didcotgirlsschooldidcot/. Then when you use most major shopping websites you just activate the link and donation from the vendor will automatically be given to DGS.
