Congratulations to our Year 11 students on their outstanding results

GCSE and BTEC Examination Results Summer 2023

Today we congratulate all of our Year 11 students as they receive their GCSE and BTEC results. These are outstanding results and we are so pleased that this engaging and hard-working cohort of students have been awarded such superb results which allow them to progress to their sixth form, college or training course of choice.

We are delighted that 85% of our 282 Year 11 students achieved a Grade 4 and above in English and Maths, and 71% achieved Grade 5 or above in both. 84% of students gained 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths (9-4) and 67% of students gained 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths (9-5).

93% of students achieved Grade 4 and above in English and 87% achieved Grade 4 and above in Maths. At Grade 5 and above, 85% were successful in English and 72% in Maths.

Results at the highest levels are excellent across all subjects with 45% of all grades at 7-9 and 28% at grades 8 or 9. 57 students achieved 6 or more grades 8 or 9.

In summary, for the 282 students:

- 93% of students gained a grade 4 or above in English

- 87% of students gained a grade 4 or above in Maths

- 85% of students gained a grade 5 or above in English

- 72% of students gained a grade 5 or above in Maths

- 52% of students gained a grade 7, 8 or 9 in English

- 38% of students gained a grade 7, 8 or 9 in Maths

- 45% of all entries were grades 7-9

 -41% of students gained 5 or more grades 7-9

- 98% of students gained 5 GCSE passes

- Overall attainment 8 figure: 59.88

Georgina Littler, Headteacher of Didcot Girls’ School, said:

“We are extremely proud of all of our students this year. They have achieved an excellent set of results in both GCSE and vocational qualifications and thoroughly deserve their success.

The superb performance of this cohort is testament to the consistent hard work of students and staff alike and we are looking forward to celebrating each individual achievement with our school community.
