Year 9 Geographers visit Bristol

Posted on: 08/11/2023

On Wednesday 8th November, Year 9 Geography students visited one of our case study locations, Bristol, in order to investigate the impact of urban growth and regeneration on the city. We started the trip by decreasing the value of our bank accounts and helping to boost the Bristol economy with a little shopping at Cabot Circus!

We then took a short walk to Broadmead High Street where we answered an Environmental Quality Survey (EQS). Afterwards, we had a quick lunch break at the regenerated waterfront in Temple Quay where we studied the environment and the development opportunities of the area.
We walked through the Bristol Temple Meads train station and made the journey to the Floating Harbour and the Underfall Yard visitor centre. We were greeted by two very helpful volunteers who were able to give us a guided tour of The Underfall Yard and show us the improvements that were made to the docks, the sluice gates and the history of the area. We really enjoyed the trip, thank you so much to everyone who helped to make it happen!
