Rising Year 7 Transition

A very warm welcome to all our new rising Year 7 students!

We understand that starting secondary school is a very exciting time, but also one that can be a bit worrying for students, as well as their parents. At Didcot Girls’ School, we aim to make the transition process as smooth and enjoyable as possible, by working closely with the students, their parents or carers, and the primary schools. This helps all those involved to feel excited and confident about joining the DGS community.

Please find below an outline of key transition dates for the September 2026 intake. Further details of our transition events will be sent to you should your child be offered a place.

National Offer Day (places offered via OCC)	Monday 2nd March 2026
Welcome letter and enrolment forms sent from DGS	Wednesday 4^th March 2026
Deadline for responding to offer from OCC	Monday 16^th March 2026
Deadline for submission of enrolment forms to DGS	Friday 27th March 2026
Transition Visits for primary schools in the Didcot Area Partnership (DAP)	Monday 18th May – Friday 5^th June 2026
Non-DAP Visit Days (for girls attending primary schools outside of the DAP)	Tuesday 9^th June 2026
Rising Year 7 Welcome Evenings	Tuesday 23rd & Thursday 25^th June 2026
Rising Year 7 Transition Days	Tuesday 7^th & Wednesday 8^th July 2026
