Employing the right staff is key to the success of our outstanding school: the Headteacher is actively involved in every interview process. We understand that valuing and developing our staff is the best way to release their potential. In return, we seek staff who are passionate about working with young people, resilient, and with a truly growth mindset. If this is you, we look forward to hearing from you!
Our RET Staff Charter summarises the commitment we make to all staff who join and work at Ridgeway Education Trust.
Family Friendly Flagship School Status
Didcot Girls' School has been instrumental in supporting the development of the school-based work of The MTPT Project. They have acted as a pilot school for The MTPT Project's "Family Friendly Schools" Award in its first round of trials, and created blueprints for policies that have benefitted other schools within The MTPT Project network. Didcot Girls' School is proud of the sustainable careers in education that they are able to provide for their staff, regardless of their family circumstances, and will continue to work innovatively with The MTPT Project. More information about our philosophy can be found in our Family Friendly Schools booklet.
DGS is an Outstanding School
Didcot Girls' School is an Ofsted outstanding 11-18 girls' comprehensive school with academy status with approximately 1550 students on roll. We operate a highly successful mixed Sixth Form of 350 students in partnership with St Birinus, the boys’ school in the town.
Ridgeway Education Trust
In September 2015, St Birinus joined Didcot Girls' School in the Ridgeway Education Trust which is now the employer for all staff at both schools. This enables deep collaboration between the two schools, creating additional opportunities for staff to lead and teach across both sites.
Sutton Courtenay Church of England Primary School joined the MAT on 1 April 2019, giving us the potential for further collaboration and the opportunity to build an exceptional, coherent education from nursery up to, and including, sixth form.
We are committed to expressing our values of high quality learning, respectful relationships and an inclusive environment in the day to day experience of staff and students throughout the school. The school is also committed to enabling family-friendly working practices for all of our staff.
Didcot Girls' School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Recruitment to all posts is subject to satisfactory references and enhanced DBS checks.
