Volunteers from TRAIN speak to Year 7 about their role in supporting Didcot's young people

Posted on: 19/01/2018
This week we have had Alice, Carolina and Lydia from TRAIN in Didcot to speak to Year 7 students about who they are and what TRAIN is able to offer students in Didcot and the surrounding area. TRAIN's primary role is to support young people: Alice showed the students a video of the clubs and activities that are provided by TRAIN during the week and during holidays.

Carolina asked our girls to think about the people who are there to support them when needed. The students were asked to write on the fingers of their hands the names of people in school and outside of school where they could get support when they needed it. It was lovely to see so many of the girls write their friends' and family's names as people whom they would go to for help.

Alice described the free activities that TRAIN are offering over the half term such as music workshops, street dance and a trip to Oxford.

We were all really impressed by how well Year 7 listened to this engaging presentation and we are very grateful to Alice, Carolina and Lydia for giving us their time.
