Year 9 students win £1000 for charity in First Give final!

Posted on: 08/06/2022

On Tuesday 7th June, Year 9 students took part in the First Give final. Throughout the year, students have used their Personal Development lessons to plan and run campaigns to raise money for charity. This culminated in students taking to the stage to pledge their case for why their chosen charity should be awarded the money. All the groups performed fantastically and raised awareness of some incredibly worthy charities. The winners were Yasmin, Betsy, Angelin and Libya, whose winning speech earned £1000 for Oxon Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre.

We are incredibly grateful to all the staff who supported students with their fundraising campaigns and practising their speeches in the run up to the event, as well as on the day. The quality of presentations from all the students was very impressive and we are so pleased to see the passion with which they represented their charities.

Many thanks to all our guests, especially the canine visitor from Dogs for Good, who stole the show!
