Public Speaking Ambassadors hold workshop for Year 10 Leaders

Posted on: 18/10/2022

OnTuesday 11th October, the Public Speaking Ambassadors ran a workshop for the Year 10 student leaders. This group was comprised of Year 10 Deputy House Captains, Climate, Charity and Diversity representatives as well as our Wellbeing, Community and Ethos Leaders. The aim was to guide and help them improve their own public speaking skills in an interactive and enjoyable setting with the guidance of students with experience in this domain. It went remarkably well and there was a lot of laughter from the several activities which included tongue twisters! Overall, it was an incredible event with lots of joy and it achieved our goal of helping these young leaders to build their confidence and public speaking.

The top fears around public speaking that we addressed were:

1. Clarity

2. Confidence

3. Distractions

4. Body Language

5. Context

We hope to hold such workshops regularly with the support of Dr Khan and Miss Marshal
